Accra, Ghana – September 2025 – Mowlem joined business leaders and government representatives at a British Ghana Chamber of Commerce (BritCham Ghana) event to mark the official signing of a US $256 million debt-restructuring agreement between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
The agreement was signed in Accra by Ghana’s Finance Minister and the UK’s Trade Commissioner for Africa, John Humphrey, representing a major step in Ghana’s ongoing debt restructuring programme. The deal will enable the resumption of critical projects, including the Tema–Aflao Road Project (Phase I), the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital modernisation, and the Redevelopment of Kumasi Central Market.
Mowlem was represented at the event by Phil Atkinson (Director), Adrian Wilson (Business Development Director), and Wisdom Adonu (Client Relationship Manager), who joined distinguished guests including Christian Rogg (UK Ghana High Commissioner) and John Humphrey (UK Africa Trade Envoy).
Phil Atkinson commented on Mowlem’s role in Ghana:
“This agreement is a vital step in supporting Ghana’s economic recovery and ensuring key projects move forward. Mowlem is proud to contribute to this progress by delivering infrastructure that supports growth, trade, and community development.”
