The British High Commission in Kingston hosted a dynamic networking and welcome reception to mark the start of the UK Trade Mission to Jamaica 2025, bringing together leading UK firms, Jamaican business executives, and government representatives. The event celebrated a shared commitment to deepening trade ties and identifying opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Running from October 8–10, the trade mission aims to foster closer UK–Jamaica commercial relationships and open new pathways for investment across sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, and education.
Representing Mowlem, Business Development Director Adrian Wilson expressed strong enthusiasm for the potential partnerships ahead:
“It sounds like there’s a lot of projects the Government wants to complete in the next four to five years. We would be delighted and excited to look at those projects and see where we could establish a foothold in Jamaica,” he said.
Mowlem is exploring opportunities to collaborate with local firms on infrastructure development, often working alongside UK Export Finance to bring projects from early concept through to construction.
Regional Trade Director for the UK’s Department of Business and Trade, D’Jamila Ward, reinforced the strong alignment between Jamaica’s national priorities and the UK’s areas of expertise, noting that “now is the time to do business in Jamaica.”
The event, supported by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, The Caribbean Council, The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, marked an exciting start to a week of meaningful engagement and partnership.
