Mowlem has been appointed by Polycon GB Limited to provide Project Management Services for the redevelopment of Grand Bahama International Airport (GBIA), reinforcing the company’s growing presence in international aviation infrastructure.
The appointment forms part of the Preliminary Services Agreement between Polycon and the Freeport Airport Development Company (FADCO), which focuses on addressing critical safety and infrastructure compliance requirements while advancing the airport’s conceptual design into a comprehensive preliminary design aligned with the overall masterplan .
Mowlem’s role is to provide project management support across the early stages of the programme, ensuring effective coordination of teams and resources to achieve operational excellence and meet key delivery milestones. This includes oversight of design, programme, and cost reviews, construction coordination, risk management, and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle
The redevelopment of Grand Bahama International Airport is a major initiative aimed at delivering a modern, resilient, and future-proof aviation hub. The project is expected to play a key role in supporting regional economic growth, enhancing tourism, and improving infrastructure resilience against environmental challenges such as hurricanes and rising sea levels .
